Asbel’s start in revenue cycle began while working for an ambulance billing and consulting firm. Over the past seventeen years, he has provided leadership in revenue cycle management to four ambulance agencies located throughout the Southeast. Since 2009, Asbel has been Vice President of one of the largest ambulance services in the Nation — a Louisiana provider with over 4,000 employees, more than 400 ground ambulances, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft.
Asbel has been a member of the American Ambulance Association (AAA) for eight years and has served on its Board of Directors; He has also served on the AAA’s Reimbursement Task Force, and regularly speaks on reimbursement topics at National and State EMS conferences. In his most recent accomplishment, Asbel was asked to provide expert testimony before the United States Congressional Subcommittee on Health regarding VA payments for non-VA contracted providers.
